Park Practice is a relatively new medical practice having been formed in 1997 by original partners Colin McKee, Paul Shepherd and Idango Adoki. The practice was formerly part of a large partnership but amicable seperation seemed the best way forward. Within a short time the practice list size had rapidly increased and Martin Writer was appointed as an additional partner.
The practice was clearly lacking in female doctors and we were delighted to welcome Jo Martyr on a part time basis in 2000. Colin McKee took early retirement a year later and the practice was further strengthened when Katya Vernon Hunt joined us as his replacement. The practice moved forward but in 2003 Idango Adoki left the practice to venture out on his own in the Sovereign Harbour development of Eastbourne. He was replaced by Dave Thomas who has rapidly and successfully settled his feet under the new table.
The practice has been based in Hampden Park Health centre since it first opened in 1981. With the passage of time sadly the old building detoriorated and no longer met the needs of a busy general practice with all the new services we provide. For several years we have been trying to build new, more modern premises, and we are delighted that we have finally managed this and moved to our "state of the art" surgery which is located adjacent to the David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Broadwater Way. The partners now look forward to providing an even better service for their patients.
